This is part 2 of our “Speed Your Website Up” tutorials. In this tutorial I will give you a little more insight on some of the tools I use on a regular basis to speed up my own site and my clients’ sites. I also use a CDN but the plugin Imagify for it’s compression capabilities. Also, we are using gtmetrix.com for our SEO tools.
- Go to https://gtmetrix.com/
- Put the complete URL to box, and click analyze
- Scroll down and click on optimize images, Keep the tabs open
- Open WP Dashboard → plugin
- Search, install and activate Imagify
6. Go to settings → imagify → Click create API key
7. Open https://temp-mail.org/en/ in a new browser tab, copy the temporary email address it gives you.
8. Paste it in the plugin window, Click sign up, Then click OK
9. Go Back to temporary email tab and open the email from Imagify
10. Confirm the account, Save username and password and copy API key
11. Paste the API key on imagify plugin, Save changes
12. Use the default settings and save changes
13. In the WP Dashboard go to Media Library
14. In the search box, Paste the image filename that needs to optimized
15. Click on the image, On the right panel scroll down and click optimize
16. Wait until optimization complete, It will show optimization details
17. Repeat step 14 – 16 for each image that needs optimization
